Kickapps.com v2.0

Need some apps for your website? Kickapps v2.0 launches next week. Here are some of the features.

KickApps has just introduced the simplest, fastest means of delivering premium video experiences on your site, with all the required media management to support the creation of rich customized solutions. Our new Premium Player Widget allows users to watch video directly in the widget, without clicking through to a separate play page. Now affiliates have an elegant way to showcase their highest-quality video on pages that display both premium and user-generated content.
Video-Enabled Message Boards
Members can now post text, audio, and video messages to your new community message board. New Forum Widgets display links to message board topics. Embed them on webpages outside of your KickApps community to encourage other users to join the discussions.
Video-Enabled Private Messaging
Private message inboxes allow members to send text and video directly to other members. Log in to the Affiliate Center to send video alerts to all of your community members.
New Widgets
25 new widget options are now available! Highlights include the Forum, Slideshow, and Premium Player Widgets, and a variety of HTML-based List Widgets.

Out with the old wordpress template

I just changed the theme to be less cluttered. It bothers me when I see someone else with the same template. It’s not a 100% done yet but I like it. If you want more minimal Wordpress themes, I suggest checking out PlainText.org.

I’m going to the Web 2.0 Expo!

web 2.0 expo
I just registered to go to the Web 2.0 Expo at the Moscone West, San Francisco April 15-18 2007. See ya there!

From the website:

Web 2.0 Expo is an annual gathering of technical, design, marketing, and business professionals who are building the next generation web. Web 2.0 Expo features the most innovative and successful Internet industry figures and companies providing attendees with examples of business models, development paradigms, and design strategies to enable mainstream businesses and new arrivals to the Web 2.0 world to take advantage of this new generation of services and opportunities.

NoypiTunes is looking for a lawsuit

NoypiTunes is service that allows you to make your phone more “Noypi” with ringtones, wallpapers and logos. NoypiTunes is focusing on the US market with availability through Cingular/ATT and Sprint. The service will soon be available through T-Mobile and Sprint.

When I 1st heard of NoypiTunes, I thought that it was finally an online OPM store. I was wrong. I think it’s named that just so people would think it’s an OPM iTunes store. Looking at the logo, they are hoping to ride the iTunes wave. Why is the “i” green? Could there be a possible lawsuit? I know Apple has gone after companies for using “iPod” and “iTunes” in the name.

From their site:

Here you’ll find a wide collection of top-rated homegrown music from artists like Bamboo, True Faith, and from Pinoy master rapper Francis M, downloadable as ringtones to US mobile phones.

You can avail of download packages and enjoy four polyphonic ringtones for the price of one.

Get what you want from a catalogue of all-original content that gives your mobile that very Pinoy brand - be it in jokes, horoscopes, love quotes and inspirations. You can even find comic strips from legendary cartoonist Larry Alcala or those tribal logos that’ll take you back to Boracay. Now dig this, you can subscribe to MMS images of Filipina models that are rocking the town!

I do see them as having a market in the US. I know my mom would pay the $4.99 if she could figure out how to do it.

My 5 steps in developing a website

web design for dummies
1) Determine - What is it that your trying to do? This is where you gather your business requirements or write your business plan.
2) Design - What will it look like? Layout, colors and etc.
3) Develop - Go make it!
4) Debug - This is where the Q/A starts. Try to break it, document it and fix it
5) Deploy - Go live!

Philmusic.com is back

Philmusic (one of my favorite sites) is back online again. I wonder what Jim has in store? Podcast? Digital music store? IPTV? Philmusic has already ventured in video. Check out this video of Joey Pepe Smith.
